OBITUARY.

MR. JOS. CP OSS. There passed away at his residence in Grey Street. Feilding, on Saturday, Mr Joseph Cross, relict of the late Mary Cross. Mr Cross had been a resident of Feilding for about 20 years, and for part of that period was employed by a sash and door firm. He had a lifelong experience in sheep farming, and was at different times engaged in that industry in Australia, the South Island of New Zealand, the Hawke’s Bay and Bulls districts, and for a while owned a property at Aslihurst. Before coming to Feilding he was engaged as a shepherd at Mr Perry’s Highden property at Awahuri. Mr Cross, who was born in Yorkshire, commenced working when he was eleven years of age and with other members of the family migrated to Australia.-whcn he w-as 19 years old. Mrs Cross predeceased her husband some five years ago. There are no children of the marriage.
