NOTES. The Red Cross Fund having closed, the. local donor of a basinette alid dressed doll has decided that the proceeds slia.l be devoted to the Spitfire'Fund. On Saturday the local tennis courts were used to capacity by many young playets taking early practice, an indication that tho official opening will be enthusiastically welcomed. . At Dannevirke on Saturday, a Rugby match was played by boys representing the St. Patrick’s clubs, Dannevirke and 1 alnierston North, respectively, tho visitors winning by 3b points to 6. . . . , The patriotic euchre tournament held-a Papatawa on Saturday evening was well attended. Winers were: Ladies, Mrs C. Knight 1, Mrs F. McLean consolation; men, Mr R. Murray 1, Mr IL Martin consolation. The funds were added to by a sale of vegetables which had been dona,ed.
