ALL SAINTS’ MEN’S CLUB.

There was a good attendance of members of the All Saints’ Men’s Club at a social function last evening, and the members of St. Andrew’s Men’s Club were in attendance as guests. Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward extended a warm welcome to all present. A community sing under the leadership of Mr L. Wood was heartily responded to. Owing to the unfortunate absence through indisposition of Mr J. A. Grant, who was to have been the speaker, ltev. D. V. de Candole filled the vacancy with a very interesting lantern talk about Lincoln Cathedral. It was in this cathedral that the .speaker . and Canon Woodward were ordained. Impromptu talks on subjects drawn from the table by an equal number of speakers from each club proved interesting and instructive. The adjudicators’ award went to Messrs Bass and Swinburn. The joke competition was awarded to Mr It. 1). Ferguson. Several musical items were rendered by the harmonica band and songs were contributed by Messrs Merton and Henderson. Mr H. E. Bennett caused merriment by bis 'humorous description of a court case. The chairman has expressed the thanks of the members to all who had -contributed to tlie success of the gathering. Mill. W. Tcppett officiated at Ihu piano ill his usual efficient manner.
