]\lr L. Rayner was met by members of the Eeiklmg Harriers’ Club at the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs Hawes, of Manchester Street, recently, when the opportunity was taken to farewell him in view of his departure to Christchurch. He has been prominent in the races held this season and annexed the Webb Shield, which trophy he holds for 12 months. The shield was presented to him by the club captain (Mr R. Lamberton) who also made a presentation of an engraved silver button. Mr E. Batten (vice-captain) was associated with Mr Lamberton in eulogistic remarks and wishes for the recipient’s success in Ins new sphere. Mr Rayner expressed his thanks and Mr Hawes also thanked the harriers and wished the club success.
