ASTHMA.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —A particularly distressing case of this painful malady,’ which was told in a suburb yesterday, suggests the publication of a simple remedy and permanent recovery here, about three years ago. The six-year-old child of a well-known family suffered severely for a year or more at short intervals. The parents consulted a skilled physician in this city, who advised them to make a detailed list of every kind of food and drink taken by their little girl for the ensuing month showing the day and hour of each, and the same details of each attack. It was thus found that fruit salad invariably preceded distressing results, and on being banned almost complete relief ensued for six months, when, after another attack, it was found »that a small boy had given the little sufferer a banana. It is now thought that some are thus affected by one kind of food and some by another. In all cases the quantity and quality are vital factors. In all sincerity it is suggested that many victims may try this good doctor’s plan and report their experience through your columns for the benefit of humanitv.—l am, etc., HELP.
