R.S.A. BALL.
The Women’s Institute Hall presented a gay scene on Thursday on the occasion of the annual hall of the Woodville Returned Soldiers’ Association. A large number of dancers from all parts of the district took the floor and thoroughly enjoyed the varied programme of modern and old-time numbers. The organisation left nothing to be desired and much of the success of the function was undoubtedly due to the ladies’ committee, which prepared the supper. Extras were played by Mrs W. Leslie and Mr L. Spclman. Miss Carlson, of Palmerston North, performed a tap dance. Messrs tV. Miller and L. Hurley acted as M.C. s and the secretarial arrangements were carried out by Mr F. H- Mackie. Both from a social and financial aspect the ball compared more than favourably with those of former years. Among those present were:—Miss_ U. .Toogood, pink taffeta: Mcsdamp W. J.
