GERMAN ALIENS. MALES INTERNED. HUGE ROUND-UP. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received May 17, 9.5 a.m. LOR DON, May 16. Tlie Home Office lias ordered the temporary internment of all male Austrians and Germans in Britain between tlie ages of 16 and 60 years, who were previously exempt though subject to special restrictions. Over 1000 members of Scotland \ ard and 400 police cars started the greatest round-up of aliens in the London area at 8 a.m. Within an hour 2000 of’ the 3000 aliens involved were detained. The British War Office announces that applicants for the local defence (anti-parachute) volunteer corps to midnight on Wednesday numbered over , 250,000:
