GIRLS’ MUSIC CLUB.
A programme comprising folk songs and national music was presented at the/monthly meeting of the Girls’ Aliisie Club, last evening. St. Andrew’s schoolroom was brightly decorated with chrysanthemums and autumn foliage. Airs R. S. Law presided in the absence of Miss E. Rawlins, and offered a welcome to members and visitors. The following was the programme: Violin. “Spanish Dance” (Spanish), Airs J. Fisher: pianoforte, Chopin’s “Nocturne” (Polish), ATiss AT.vsie Anderson; violin. “Hyre Kati” (Hungarian), Miss Beryl Bartlett; p : ano. “Watchman’s » Song,” “Folk Tune” and “National Song” (Norwegian). Aliss Frances Anderson ; vocal, “Night Song,” 1802. and “Farewell, ” 1827 (German). Aliss Iris Sutherland.; violin. “The Song of the Volga Boatman” (Russian), Aliss Ferol Howley: vocal. “I Want to Be Ready” and “Didn’t It Pain?” (Negro Spirituals). Albs D. Junker (Pahintua.); vocal Bn AVels l '!, “Yn i ach i ti Gymru” and “Breuddwyd .v Frenaines” (Welsh). Afiss E. A. James; vocal, “O That We Two AVcre Maviiig'(English) and “Believe Me if All Those Endearing Young Charms” 1 (Trisli), Airs AT. F. Faddy: vocal (in ’Celtic).:' “Cockle Gatherers’ Song” and “Turn A r e to Me” v Hebridean). Aliss' Eunice Scnft; pianoforte, “Wedding Day” (Norwegian), Aliss Lola Btiick. The accompaniments were played by AlissesVE. Eyre and L. Btiick. Members were reminded of their duties in connection with the patriotic shop.
