NGA TAWA BALL.
FOUR, FEILDING DEBUTANTES. There were four debutantes at the combined annual, ball of the Nga Tawa Old Girts’ and Wanganui College Old Boys’‘ Associations iield in building. They were Mies Audrey Coggin, dauguter ot Airs B. 11. England, of Cunninghams, Aiisses June and Phyllis Carmine, daughters of Air and Airs L. J. Carmine, Derby Street, Feilding, and Aliss Celia Williamson, daughter of Air and Airs J. H. Williamson, of W’aituna AVest. . For her debut Aliss Coggin wore a model gown of heavy ivory satin, embroidered with silver leaves and embossed with pastel - pink and blue motifs. A full circular skirt was featured, the ruched bodice being suspended by narrow straps caught to one side with a dainty posy ot silver and pastel shaded flowers. Pink carnations and rosebuds composed her pesy. Airs England’s, distinctive gown was of black taffetas. A gown of white ninon modelled on old-world 1 lines was Aliss June Carmine’s choice. The off-tlie-shoulder bodice was ruched; in front, where it was caught with a posy in shades of mauve, pink and blue, while the voluminous skirt fell in soft lolds. A posy of nerines, chrysanthemums and cornflowers, tied with blue tulle, completed the Victorian mode of her toilette. A fully shirred bodice was a feature of Aliss Phyllis Carmine’s gown of white ninon’ with its flowing skirt, effective contrast being provided b.y shoulder straps of amethyst velvet. A tiny matching bolero of ninon was worn and she carried white chrysanthemums tied with amqthyst ribbons. Airs Carmine was attired in a gown of black georgette relieved with a pink spray. Mrs Williamson’s gown was of ivory French silk net worn over matching taffetas, the bouffant skirt being banded circularly at the hemline with rows of ivory satin ribbon. The gathered bodice was offset with a demure squarecut neckline and tiny puffed sleeves, and her flowers were pink roses and carnations tied with silver ribbons. Airs Williamson’s gown was of black satin romaine with matching coatee and diamante trimmings.
