GOLF TOURNAMENT.
!■ Though on Friday it had heon decided, because of the wet weather, to postpone the Woodyille Golf dnb’s annual tournament, a sudden change to ideal weather conditions on Saturday caused officials to revoke the decision and proceed with the event. There was a large entry from outside clubs, in addition to the local player's. The course was in reasonably pood order, but plav nevertheless was ciiarapterised by high scoring. The outstanding performance of the tourney was that of F. D. Mnckie—a gross 78 —in the Ruahine Handicap final. A higher standard of golf was witnessed in the Wqodville championship, which was won by J. G. Swainson (Pahiatua) after a very closely, contested final in which he won frdm his olnbmate, J.
