YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB.
At tlic monthly meeting Inst night of the Woodvilie Young Formers Club, tlie chairman (Mr A. Compton) reported that a field day would shortly, be held at Dannevirke. Stressing the value of such competitions, the chairman said Woodville was required to enter a team of twelve and he appealed to as many other members as possible to attend. Preliminary arrangements were made in the matter of selecting a stock judging team. Mr Iv. Mitchell asked whether any further progress had been made regarding the club’s Centennial tree : planting scheme, the chairman replying that they were awaiting advice from Mr M. D. 'Murray as to the outcome of a meeting of the borough reserves com-, mittee. It was ■ resolved ,• that the completing of arrangements on receipt of Mr report bo left to •Messrs A. Arrow? Murray and the -chairman. It was decided that the levy of sixpence per member on club's for district committee funds be -paid out of club funds. Mr P„ .I.'. S. Holden (district .secretary) advised that the Southern Hawke’s Bay quota for the projected young farmers’ ton-day tour of Otago was seven. The chairman reported that arrangements were welkin hand for the club’s annual dance. Mr H. do 0. Chambpi-lain, of Palmerston North is .to be asked to lecture at the next meeting. The chairman and several other-members referred in eulogistic terms to the services rendered ""The club by Mr C. Cotter, an enthusiastic member, who will shortly he leaving the district. Best wishes were expressed for his future success.
