GIFT TO CHURCH.

LATE MISS N. McHARDY. Under the will of the late Miss Nita McHardy, a gilt of £IOOO has been made to St- Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North. An announcement to this effect was made Rev. J. Hubbard at the morning service yesterday. Miss McHardy had not been unmindful of the claims of the _ Church during her lifetime, said Mr Hubbar 1, and several substantial donations had come from her. Mr Hubbard made some general remarks on the subject of giving, and said he had often wondered why so many people with resources lived and died without assisting the Church. There was no organisation m tne whole world more worthy ot generosity being shown to it. He said that he trusted that Miss McHardy s example would not be lost on those who were in a position to help.
