MUSIC SOCIETY.

ITALIAN COMPOSERS’ WORK. The monthly meeting of the Feilding branch of the British Music Society was held on Tuesday in the Community Centre. The programme comprised- Italian music, ' and members were, privileged to hear a. talk oil the works of the Italian 1 composers and, their lives by Mrs A. L. Dixon. The hostesses were Mesdames A.. L. Dixon and A. B. Farmer; Mesdames W. A. Sandilahds and K. •H. Dowrick were in charge of ' the supper arrangements. Those present included l MeSdameS D. B. Rowe, J. G; Eliott, V. F.-Short, At. Andrews, A. B. Farmer, A. W. Taylor, W. A,. Sandilands, H. W. Wood, Morris Auckland,L. M. T. Wotton, A. L. Dixon; Misses E. Berkalm, B. McLean,.- (Wellington), M. Melrose,' P. Melrose, Tv, Salter, B. Eliott, D. Whitehead, Messrs ,D. B. Rowe, A. B. Farmer, and J. L. Fleetwood.. Apologies'for absence were received from . Mesdames W. Maclaurin, C. Hausmann, L. J. Wild, -and H. M. Morris., Items were given’by Mrs Wotton (violin solos), Mr Rowe (vocal solos), Mrs Farmer and Miss Eliott (violin duet), Miss Berkahn (vocal solos) and Miss McLean (vocal solos). It was announced that an -informal meeting would bo held later at which Miss B. Blamires (pianistc) and bliss S. Baker (violiniste) and two vocalists will be assisting. -
