WEDDING.
ELLEN—STOCK. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in the Woodville Salvation Army Citadel on Saturday last, the contracting parties being Estelle, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Stock, of Woodville, and Garnet Aubrey Ellen, son of Mrs John Cook, Wakarara,. and the late Mr G. C. Ellen, Ashburton. The sincerity and simplicity of the ceremony, which was conducted by Captain Larner H. Jones, made an appeal to the large congregation. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a cream satin frock with train effect and a beautiful enveloping old veil (lent by aunts), and orange blossom. She was attended by Miss itona Dunn as chief bridesmaid and Miss Rosa Mills. Both bridesmaids wore blue georgette, gowns trimmed with pink satin streamers. The bride’s two little sisters (Misses, Evelyn and Mary Stock), dressed alike in lavender georgette with pink streamers, acted as flowergirls. The best man was Air Wilson Stock, brother of the bride, and the groomsman Mr Douglas Cook, cousin of the bride. Air V. Cook acted as usher, and the wedding music was played by Aliss Lucy Mills. At the wedding breakfast a large number of guests were entertained and the usual toasts were musically honoured, Captain Jones acting as toastmaster. Alany beautiful presents and several congratulatory telegrams were received. The happy couple later travelled south on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a jade green ensemble with navy accessories. Air and Airs Ellen will make their future home at AVakarara (Hawke’s Bay).
