RENOVATING.
Interior cleaning and renovating entails a knowledge of many things, if the work is to be done thoroughly Here are some liandy hints that will prove of value : A handful of salt added to the whitewash for ceilings when it is being mixed will make it spread more evenly and set more firmly when applied. To»remove marks and specks from tiles and glazed surfaces, rub with a cloth rung out of parraffin. The less exposed parts of leather upholstery are liable to accumulate mildew during wet weather, or in damp houses. To remove, rub first with vaseline' and then with a soft cloth. To keep leather upholstery supple and free from cracks, polish occasionally with a cloth wrung out of fine machine or other fine light oil, giving a final polish with a dry cloth. To restore faded oil paintings it is a good plan to rub the surface with an onion cut in quarters. Rub gently with a circular motion over small surfaces at a time.
Discolourations on fibrous plaster, unless caused by grease, can be removed by rubbing with the steel wool commonly used for cleaning saucepans. '
