MELODY DANCE CLUB.
There was a very good attendance at the weekly old-time and modern dance held by the Melody Dance Club in the Empire Hall and organised by Miss W. K. Hubbard. Various competition and novelty dances were thoroughly enjoyed by the patrons. A professional orchestra of four players rendered excellent dance numbers, and an appreciated extra was played by Mr Christensen. Mr Howard York carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual attentive manner. An announcement was made by the M.C. that the next Melody Dance would be held on Saturday, May 11, at the Longburn Hall, owing to the Empire Hall being previously engaged. Patrons were assured of an excellent evening’s entertainment at the Longburn Hall,-at the usual admission charges; free buses will leave the Chief Post Office at 7.30 sharp. In addition to a good old-time and modern dance programme, there will be euchre for non-dancers. Full details of this Longburn dance are advertised elsewhere in this issue.
