Mrs A. Laurent, of Netherton, Thames Valley, is spending a holiday in Palmerston North and Wellington. Sister M. Kay worth, who spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs W. Kayworth, “Forest Bend” Stan way, has returned to Palmerston North. Miss A. Crow, of the nursing staff of the Palmerston North Hospital, is visiting her home at Tauliei, Morrinsville. Miss Tarrant, of Paeroa, is, spending a fortnight’s holiday in Palmerston North. Miss Marjorie Millar, of Whakarongo, visited Wellington for the Marsden School ball. Miss M. Poole, of Rangitane Street, went to Wellington on Tuesday to attend the 21st anniversary celebrations of Queen Margaret College, and returned last evening. Mrs M. Gosset is a Christchurch visitor to Palmerston North, where her son is on the medical staff of the Hospital. She is the guest of Mrs W. J. **fcjllips, of Victoria Avenue. Mrs A. E. Hefford, .wife of the Chief Inspector of Fisheries, and a well-known figure in Wellington Educational and social circles, died on Tuesday at her home in Clark Street, Khandallah. She was 56 years of age. Votes of 'Sympathy were accorded Mrs C. Newlands (secretary) and Mrs G. Glendinning, who are ill, at the meeting of St. David’s Ladies’ Guild yesterday afternoon, Mrs R. Warnock expressing the hope that both ladies would soon be with the members again. Yesterday members of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Union of Townswomen’s Guilds gave a very pleasant morning tea and presentation, in Wellington, to Mrs P. H. Kinsman, honorary Dominion -secretary, on her return to office after a serious illness. Among those who attended was Mrs A. E. Mansford, of Palmerston North.
