Hie match was fast and open in the first spell, the pace slowing doivn in the second half, but nevertheless the contest was a bright one, with the home backs always a trifle the better, and the result never in doubt. The Bulls team felt the loss of J. Bryers (on holiday), and, with the addition of Ray Bromley was the same ns accounted for Rata oh the previous Saturday. Bulls faced a troublesome sun in the opening spell, and play was of a ragged nature for a time. The homo forwards dribbled through, and Matthews got over in a fair position Stock goaling well. Very fast play followed, Lewis and Purvis leading the maroons to the Bulls lino, but Wil liams saved, and later cut through and ran to the visitors’ twenty-five, where, from a scrum. Bending tried the blind side, transferring to Culpan, who brushed N. Riston aside and appeared to score but the try was disallowed. McAlpine: and Williams handled, and '. Mullins ..secured, • showing his-pace to run from near halfway to score a fine try-. Stock goaled. Maroon forward rushes and homo back passing runs wore met with stout defence, but eventually Mullins broke away, run-

ning strongly along llie side-line, and when blocked by Weston, sending in-field, where several Bulls forwards handled, Ror, Ellery eventually getting the ball and rounding off a fine movement with a tricky run to hurl himself across the line with several ladders on top of him, Ellery ■sustaining a' fractured rib in the act, and having to retire. Stock again goaled. The Bulls players were now tiring, and the visitors threw the ball about.'in good style, J. Illston, Bartlett , and Croft making good runs, from brie, .of which Croft swerved straigul through to score a brilliant try near the posts. Barlett goaled. Bulls 15, Hunterville 5. Mr R.
