(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, May 3. Mrs Baker, of Beach Road, is visiting her son, Mr W. Baker, Hawke’s Bay. Mrs O Edwards left to-day on a visit to Wellington. The vital statistics for April, with the figures for the corresponding period last year in parentheses, arc; Births, 1 (4); deaths, 1 (5); marriages, 3 (4). At a meeting of the committee of the Foxton High School Old Pupils’ Association arrangements for the official opening of the Tabic Tennis Club were discussed. At the annual meeting of All Saints’ Ladies’ Guild sufficient funds had been raised for the installation of an electric tun and the purchase of heaters. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs G. B. Stote-Blandv; secretary, Miss E. Barber; treasurer, Mrs W. Trueman. It was decided to hold a short service in the church prior to the guild meetings. The first of the sories of competitions for the lady members of the Herrington Golf Club was played on Wednesday, and took the form of an L.G.U. and stroke competition. The results were: —Senior: Miss N. Davidson and Miss A. Neylon, equal, 1; Airs S. E. Crawford 2. Mrs M. 13. Bcrgin 3. Junior: Mrs A. Walls 1, Mm A. V. Taylor. 2, Mrs R. C.' Hornblow 3.
