SLOVAKIAN ACTIONS.
HUNGARY ANNOYED. BUDAPEST, May 5. An official broadcast stated: “Intolerable provocations by the Slovak Government arc being watched with anxiety and misgiving. It is realised that these activities arc directed against the very existence of the Hungarian State.” The Hungarian Foreign Minister (Count Csaky) recently warned Slovakia against persecuting the Hungarian minority of 160,000. “Slovakia.” he said, “should • not attempt to play off Germany against Hungary, because Hungary trusts in the stability of her friendship with Germany. All must recognise that Hungary will act if and when it is advisable. and not under provocation. Slovakia must understand that we shall defend the rights of Hungarians.”
