NAZI ACTIVITIES.
. ARRESTS IN HOLLAND. . :f; AMSTERDAM, May 4.. ’' Tlig Prime Minister (Jonkhter de Greer) announces that 21 persons were arrested because they were considered dangerous to the safety of Holland. It is understood that all are Dutch Nazis. A New York message says that United States Line officials revealed that after raids on the liner Washington a section of the crew was placed under surveillance. It is alleged that the ship was a hotbed of Nazi sympathisers. who hold nightly Bund meetings and have been attempting to smuggle mail to Germany. MEXICAN DISPUTE. WASHINGTON, May 4. Mexico has sent a Note to the United States refecting proposed arbitration on the oil dispute on the ground that arbitration was inoperative since the oil firms had not yet proved denial of justice in Mexican Courts. Arrangements have been made for Dutch authorities to look after British interests in Mexico (states the British Official Wireless!. Since diplomatic relations between Britain and Mexico were severed ' in 1938 the Danish Legation had taken charge of British interests. The Nazi invasion of Denmark necessitated a change.
