BAINESSE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BAINESSE, May 3. A pantry evening was tendered Miss B. Beard by Misses Agnes Tennant, Dorothy Tennant and Lowis Brooke-Tay-Jor, at the residence of Mrs BrookeTaylor, Among those present were: Mr anil Mrs Price, Palmerston North; Mr J. Oliver, Palmerston North;, Mr C. Waller, Mesdamos R. Waller, J. Conlan, M. Mills, G. Beard, A. Nicols, C. Christensen, E. Kinnings (Oroua Downs); Mrs H. Lucas, R-angiotu; Mesdamos H. Jacobsen, F. Legg, M. Ryan, L. Beard, D. Tennant, Misses E. Dalgety, I. Petersen, Iv. Dixon, P. GJi.nblett, A. Gimblett, Rangiotu; Misses K. Dench and Christensen, Oroua Downs; Misses J. Tennant, E. Metcalfe and E. Caspc, Baincssc; Mrs Beard and Mrs Tennant. Two piano-aecordeons, played by Airs Price and Mr Oliver, and a saxophone, played by Mr Price, supplied excellent music for dancing. Various competitions were hold. A table of gifts was presented to the bride-to-1 e by Miss Lowis Brooke-Taylor, on behalf of those present. Miss Beard thanked (he hostesses for giving her tho party. A medley of Strauss waltzes, played by Mr and Mrs Price and Mr Oliver, was much appreciated. After a community sing musical honours were -sung for tho bridc-lc be, the hostessc and the musicians.
