VALEDICTORY.
At- the farewelling of two teachersat the Manchester Street School, referred to in the “Manawatu Standard” on Wednesday, a number of parents attended. The bouquets for Miss Frazer and Mrs Sandbrook were presented by two tiny children and Zelda Clark. Mr Gaze (headmaster), in his remarks, stated that Aliss Frazer had been infant mistress for five years, while Airs Sandbrook had taught in the school for 17 years. He congratulated both on the results of their - labours and wished them many happy years in their retirement, stating that he felt sure the greatest reward any teacher could have was to see the pupils whom they had taught “playing their part” with honour in after life. AJiss Frazer replied and cheers were given by the children, aftei which the parents participated in the afternoon tea and took an opportunity- to say good-bye to the departing gueste. Aliss Frazer will reside in Feilding and Airs Sandbrook leaves for Wellington at the week-end. The proceedings were interspersed with musical and elocutionary items byNellie Goldsack, June Broderick, Nola Tremaine, Paul Franco and Brian Collier.
