The Stanway Hall Association held its annual meeting recently, when there was a very disappointing attendance. Air T. Green presided and also present were Messrs R. Hamilton (secretary), A. Callingham, T. Craine, E. Christian and Air Leet. Mr Hamilton presented the balance-sheet, which showed a small debit balance. This was adopted. Ibe election of officers resulted: Air T» Green president; Air R. Hamilton, secretary. The lack of interest shown in the association was discussed at some length.

On Monday night there was a meeting in the hall of the Table Tennis Club. Mr D. Humphrey was elected to the cliair. Tho balance-sheet shoved a credit sum. This wa's adopted. The election of officers resulted: Patron. Mr C. Christian; president, Mr D. Humphrey; vicepresidents, Messrs R. Cockburn and Leet; secretary, Mr R. Humphrey; club captain. Air E. Craine; social committee, all c]ul> members Arrangements for opening night were made. Prizes for the winners arc to be donated by AJiss Z. Jefferies and Air E. Craine. It is anticipated that this year interim, vs ill be most keen in this evening sport, and a record attendance is anticipated for opening night. Mr and Airs R Cockburn have returned from a short holiday spent in Wellington. Alessrs J. Stack and M. Sanson arc visitors to Wellington. Airs E. Christian, AJiss J. Christian and Mr _ Warren Christian, who have been in Wellington for some days, have veturned home. Aliss AT, Dernier lias also returned from Wellington. The friends of Aliss Betty Christian will bo pleased to learn that she will shortly be returning home from Hanmer Springs much improved in health Misses I. Christian and J. Craine, of Solwav College, Alasterton. are spending the holidays with their parents. Ahs; Betty Alaefarlane, of New- Plymouth Girls College, is spending the holidays with her parents. Air and Mrs 1 . Aliios, oi Blenheim, are the guests of the-former’s parents, Ur and Airs T. Aliles. senr., of Stanway.
