MENDACIOUS REPORTS.
AVAR OFFICE REJOINDER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 29. The AVar Office announces: “Statements made that the British commander at Namsos has been superseded by a French commander are untrue. Statements that our men wore untrained and without reserves are nonsense. As in previous exaggerated statements, the reports, have h®. en based on a conversation with a soldier influenced by his personal experience during the heat of the battle and without knowledge of the .situation as a whole.” The denial refers to an American report. . A contingent of men of the London Auxiliary Fire Service, who left by air for Finland on March 12, have reached Stockholm on their way to Norway, according to information reaching the headquarters of the London Fire Brigade. The men have with them an official observer who is to study conditions of aerial warfare.
