BITTER FIGHTING OCCURS

STRIFE IN NORWAY.

i RESISTANCE INTENSIFIED. • ALLIES STRENGTHENED. ; (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, April 29. German and Allied troops continue to pour into Norway, and the bitterness of the fighting increases with the strengthening or the Norwegian and Allied resistance, which the Germans are answering with intensified bombing and machine-gunning, not only of troops but of villages, ambulances, and a. hospital ship. The battle appears to be still joined at Kvam, in the.Gudbrandsdals valley, and north Irom Roros, where the Germans are repairing blown-up bridges and bringing up armoured cars and field guns. „ There arc few Germans apparently in the neighbourhood of Jerkin, "here they met a strong Allied force. Hie main German detachments attempting to cross the mountains to tne DombasStoren railway have apparently been checked. Norwegian sources admit the Ucimans have advanced ten miles westward from Noes to Gol, and detachments from Bergen are advancing eastward. The French and Norwegians have organised a continuous hue through the forest in the Stenkjaer area (between Trondheim and Namsos), with the British supporting. Patrols are actively engaged with machine-guns and rifles, and German bombers arc incessantly attacking the whole front. . The Norwegians repulsed a heavy German attack at langen station (south-east of Hamar) and south from Lakensasen. Air battles are more frequent, and the Germans are apparently using air transports, of which scores daily arc flying northwards over Roros.
