The Board of General Purposes of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand, its chief administrative body, resolved at a meeting held yesterday to recommend to the Grand tlia an interest-free, loan of £IO,OOO be made to tlie Government for the duration of the war and six months alter. The board also resolved upon a gilt of £SOOO to the National Patriotic Council. This amount is to lie allocated as follows : The sum »of £2500".f0r tlie general purposes of the Patriotic l'untl and £2500 for the relief of the sick, wounded, and distressed. The Grand Master (Mr »C. JDonaldson), in announcing these derisions to the Grand Lodge last evening, said that these dispositions would he further proof to the world, that Freemasonry took an active part m furthering the welfare of the countries in which it resided. . ..
