Captain William Mctlalc of the American freighter Mormacsea disputes Herr von Ribbentrop’s assertion that the troops were not given sailing orders for the invasion of Norway until April 8. “I photographed the German auxili ary Seattle in Trondheim Fiord at 2 p.m. on April 7. headed toward Bergen, high out of the water,” ho said. “She would not be returning to Germany empty. Undoubtedly she carried troops. She was idling along, apparently awaiting orders.”
