Y.M.C.A. HARRIERS.
The Y.M.C.A. harriers held iheir ofh rial opening run. commencing from the Y.M.C.A., on Saturday afternoon. There was a good attendance of local runners and several members of the Feilding Club participated. The course of about four miles consisted of road and cross-country running. The runners were divided into two packs and “run-ins” were held over the last 500 yards. The results wero:-^ First pack.—G. Whittaker (Feilding) ami A. Wilby 1, L. Moore (Feilding) 3. Second pack.—A. Cozens 1, C. McVicnr 2, L. Hawthorne 3. Most of the runners were content to matters easily. J. Spall, N. 1.1 ear soy and T,. Hawthorne showed good form, as did G. Scator, a new member. Sea tor, who is a junior, should provide I). McCardle with more opposition than ho has received in past seasons. The members of both dubs were the guests of Mr J. Eagle, president at afternoon tea after the run. Mr Eagle expressed the hope that the dub would continue to progress despite the difficult times for present-day sport, ihe next outing will !>.•*• a pack run held from the Sportsground.
