AIR GEO. FRASER.

A well-known and respected resident of Cheltenham passed away at the Awapuni Home. Palmerston North, on Thursday, in the person of Air George Fraser aged 98 years. The late Alt' Fraser was for many years in the employ of the late Mr Ernest Short, of Cheltenham, and he will he remembered by a host of friends for his gentlemanly qualities and genial manner and his extensive knowledge of pioneering days in New Zealand. In the earlier years of his life Air Eraser was closely associated with many of the original surveys covering the northern portion of the Wellington province, and prior, to his passing had the distinction of being tho oldest surviving jockey in the Dominion. Some two years ago the deceased gentleman made and thoroughly enjoyed his first flight over the district bv air.
