OBITUARY
MRS G. McKAY, OF HALCOMBE. There passed away at the Palmerston North Hospital on April 22, 1940, Mrs Anna H. S. McKay, widow of Mr George McKay, of Halcombe. Born in Sehlosing, Germany, she was a (laughter of the late Mr and Mrs L. Peterson and came to New Zealand 49 years ago, settling in Halcombe. She was predeceased bv her husband in 1911 and came back to the Halcombo district to live with her daughter twelve months ago, after living at Doyestonc, Canterbury, ior some years. There are left Mesdames R. G. 'Watson (Papanui), D. Hughes (Halcombe) and Messrs J. McKay (Christchurch), H. G. McKay (Christchurch), and Humphrey McKay (Australia). The funeral took place on Wednesday at the Halcombe Cemetery, following a service at the residence of Mr D. Hughes. Rev. Mr To Punga officiated at the services and the pallbearers were (Messrs D. J. and RHughes, G. and E. Peterson and J. Curtis. The sympathy of many friends litis been extended to the bereaved family, and many floral tributes were received.
