MANAWATU WOMEN’S CLUB
ANNUAL HAMPER APPEAL. Tlieir. annual afternoon gathering in aid of a hamper for patients at the Porirua Mental Hospital was held by members of the Manawatu Women’s Club, at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s tearooms, yesterday. An amount i.n the vicinity of £5 was raised, several members who were unable to be present sending their donations. The president (Mrs A. E. Manslord) also sent her wishes for a successful afternoon. Mrs It. A. Fuller (vice-president; presided and the hostesses were Mesdames W. J. Honore, J. C. Young and J. M. Hodgson. Two plays were presented by the play-reading circle, those taking part in the first being: Miss L. D’Ath, Mesdames T. Ellery, T. Simpson and M. H. Wilson, the producer being Mrs A. Wilson. The cast of the second play comprised Mesdames A. Wilson, J. Johnston, It. A. Fuller, W. Mouldcy, N. V. Ballinger and Miss L. D’Ath, Mrs Fuller being the producer. Mrs J. C. Young thanked the members of thb circle lor the entertainment.
