COLYTON

(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, April 23. Miss Ailccn Dunbar was tlio guest of honour at a social evening arranged by members of the local Tennis Club held at the residence of Mr and Mrs A. Funston. Mr John Humphrey, on behalf of the club members, made the presentation of a beautiful crystal vase to Miss Dunbar, who is leaving the district shortly to be married. Mr Humphrey expressed the regret the club felt in the departure of one of its leading and most popular players, and concluded by conveying to the guest of honour the best wishes of the gathering for her future happiness. In a few words Miss, Dunbar expressed her thanks and appreciation, and also the regret she felt in leaving Colyton. At the annual meeting of the Colyton branch of the women’s organisation ot the National Party, in the absence of the president (Mrs It. Linklater) Mre P. McLeod presided. A report of the year’s ’activities was read by the secretary. A letter from Mrs Dinklatcr tendering her resignation as president of the branch made necessary by her change of residence was received. Officers for the forthcoming year are: —President, Mrs H. Shepherd; vice-president, Mosdanic« JJ. McLeod and H. Hocken; secretary, Mrs It. TV. Buchanan; last year’s committee was returned to office; delegates to electorate committee, Mosdames H. Shepherd, 13. McLeod, J. Williamson, N. Shortall, It. W. Buchanan.
