SALE OF WORK.
ST. ANDREW’S AUXILIARY. A new and thriving activity of St. Andrew’s Church is the Girls’ Anx'linry, members of which recently held their first sale of work in aid of the missionary fund, realising the gratifying sum of £l6 10s. Members of.-the P.W.M.U. assisted and were also responsible for the supper arrangements. Those in charge of the stalls were: Handwork, Thelma Wallace and Gladys Piper, assisted by Mrs Clark and Miss J. Chapman; cakes, Norma Carr, Betty Bailey; assisted by Mrs G. C. Petersen; produce, Melba Niven, Una Campbell, assisted by Mrs M. Aitcliison; sweets, Audrey King, Ava Wilson. Nita Henderson, assisted by Miss Bartlett. The ladies in charge of the supper were: Mesdames Cooper (convener), Tiiy, Wattcurs, Bcatson and Miss Ram. . ' The auxiliary members, assisted by Jack Rennie, Bruce Donald and John Hubbard, entertained those present with a missionary play entitled “The Vision Splend'd.” which was produced by Miss L. C. Thomson. The cast included : Melba Niven, Ava Wilson, Norma Carr, Audrey King, Jack Rennie, Bruce Donald, Phyllis Henderson, Nita Henderson, Betty Bailey, John Hubbard and Thelma Wallace. Mr A. J. Graham conducted the music. At the conclusion of the play the president (Mrs R. L. C. Aitcliison), on behalf of the girls, thanked those who had helped to make the sale a success and presented Miss Thomson with a floral sheaf. She also expressed appreciation of the loyal co-operation of the girls. Rev. A. \V. Baxter thanked and congratulated the members of the cast and thanks were extended to Mrs J. C. Petersen (vice-president) for her assistance.
