VISITING MUSICIANS

RECEPTION AT AVELLINGTON. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON. April 15. A Government reception was tendered to musicians visiting New Zealand for the National Centennial Afusie, and Drama Festivals ill the social hall at Parliament Buildings this afternoon. The chief guests were Mr Anderson Tvrer, musical director; Aliss Lsobel Baillie, soprano; Aliss Gladys Ripley, contralto; Mr Heddle Nash, tenor; Air Oscar Natzkc. bass; and Mr Raymond Beatty, bass-baritone. The guests, who included Ministers of the Crown and representatives of the musical societies of AVellington, were received by the Prime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser") and Airs Fraser.

Extending thanks for the reception. Air Tyrcr said they had the finest vocalists England could provide, and the Centennial orchestra was the best tlie country could provide. New Zealand was a long way from Europe and the United States and it was up to the public of the Dominion to support the festival strongly.
