ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CADET DIVISION. Following the inspection at the weekly parade of the St. .John Ambulance cadets, the superintendent (Mr Stevenson) congratulated the probationer boys on passing their preliminary examination. Sergeant Aklerson and the ambulance officer (Mr Ayson) were thanked by the boys lor their help in training them. A short time was spent in physical drill, after which the boys were given a brief examination in practical and theory work. The work of the cadets who passed their examinations some time ago was compajvcl with that of the newly examined boys, cadets who have passed their senior examinations taking charge. The boys were next called up and then dismissed, after which some games were held. This week's don’ts. —Don’t imagine a person is dead because breathing is not apparent. Apply artificial respiration until breathing is restored or a doctor certifies life is extinct. Don’t run outside if your clothing catches fire; wrap a coat or rug round yourself and roll on the ground. Don’t expose a patient more than necessary, as exposure induces shock.
