MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. NOMINATIONS OF TEAMS. At a meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union, last evening, Air A. M. Ongley presided over a full attendance. The principal business concerned the consideration of nominations lor the season, these being as follow: Seniors. —Feilding, Old Boys, St. Patrick’s, United, Kia Toa, University, Feilding Old Boys, Air Force (Ohakea). Junior.—Old Boys, Bunnythorpe, Air Force (Ohakea), St. Patrick’s, United, Halcombe, Feilding Old Boys, Kia Toa, University. Third Grade.—Feilding Old Boys, Old Boys, United, Kia Toa, Feilding, University, Feilding High School. Fourth Grade.—Kia Toa, Feilding High School, High School, United. In the junior grade Halcombe was accepted as a town team on condition that jts homo matches are played at Feilding. The use of the gymnasium was granted on the following nights: Old Boys, Tuesday; St. Patrick’s (Park Road). United, Wednesday; Kia Toa, Thursday. The postponement and grounds and gyninasium committees were reappointed, Air P. 0. Skoglund was reappointed fixture committeeman, and the executive as classification committee. The appointment of selectors was deferred. Messrs Ongley and H. Hands were re-elected delegates to the New Zealand Union. ATr W. AfcPhail was reappointed union representative at Feilding. Mr C. A. Barley advised that tlie Longburn Club would not be able to field a team owing to the possibility of tbc club falling through because of lack of players.—Beceived. The New Zealand Union requested a return showing all grounds in the Alanawatu district and the silk-unions and other information _ which would help iu negotiations with the Transport Department in an endeavour to have the petrol restrictions eased. —It was decided to refer the matter to the sub-unions. Advice was received from the New Zealand Union that members of His Alajcsty’s Forces enrolled in camps might play Rugby for their unit against other, units or clubs and unions although the service teams might contain players of any other code. Civilians might play for their club or union against teams from tbc Forces withoutendangering their amateur status under these circumstances. —Received. An appeal was made by the Trentham Camp authorities for jerseys no longer serviceable for representative teams to be donated for use in camp. —lt was deemed advisable to retain such jerseys for the use of similar teams in this district. An invitation to play a representative fixture at Palmerston North on the King’s Birthday is to be extended to the Wellington Union. A grant of £2O was made_ to the Referees! Association, also £5 5s to the St. John Ambulance Association and £2 2s to tlie Free Ambulance, all in respect of last season. The Bunnythorpe Club was granted £2 towards the cost of marking and the upkeep of grounds. A letter of appreciation for bis services in the past is to be forwarded to Dr. P. 11. Alules, of Woodville, and be is to lie granted a complimentary pass. The A\ oodville Club is now in the Bush Union. Feilding Old Boys’ senior and junior teams wore granted permission to travel to AVanganui on Saturday to pin v AVanganui Old Boys. The use’ of Rugby Park on Thursdays was granted High School.
