BULLS.
(From Out Own Correspondent.) BULLS, April 12. At the monthly mooting of the Town Board there were present: Commissioners J. K. Walker (chairman), F. A. Holland, C. C. Price and A. W. Anion. The fore man (Mr S. Howard) reported on genoral work done. The Fcilding' Rorough Council invited members to attend the unveiling of the district Centennial memorial on Mt. Stewart on April 20. the report of the sanitary inspector (Mr J. V. Flowers) was adopted. The chairman gave notice to move at next meeting that tho following rates be struck for the ensuing vear:—General rale. Is 7d; library rate, Id: lighting rate, 6d; hospital rate, 6d; bridge rate, 2<l; and footpath rate, Id. Works committee: The. following were appointed for the ensuing month, Cmrs Lundy, Mansell and Price. There yvas a good al tendance at this week’s first aid class, and great; interest is being manifested in this. useful hobby. Mrs Hatch, the Bulls superintendent, gave the demonstration, and members of the Marton branch of St. John Ambulance showed how splints should bo applied. Mr A. Emerson, manager of Brandon Hall farm, is leaving hero shortly to take up a similar position near Wanganui, and on Wednesday evening yvas tendered a farewell by neighbours anil friends. Mr Alien, of "Wanganui, owner of Brandon Hall, expressed regret at Mr Emerson’s departure. a,nd Mr C. 11. 1 horhy, on behalf of those present, supplemented the former speaker's remarks, at the same time asking Mr Emerson to accept a leather suit-case as a memento of their re-, giml.
