HERD IMPROVEMENT.
GROUP FIGURES. The Wellington-llawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 33,546 cows in March,. and the average cow produced 5541 b milk o,f 5.2 average test yielding 28.711 b butterfat. The highest group in the association was that of Makirikiri-Okoia, wherein 400 cows averaged 371 b butterfat. Ihe highest herd in the association was one of eight cows which averaged 451 b fat and the highest cow in the association produced 871 b butterfat for the 30-day period.
