Upon receipt to-night of the news that she had \Von the first prize in the “Joy for Me” Art Union, Mrs D. T. Hayes, who resides with her husband in one of the City Council’s houses at Clyde Hill, went with him to the home of her brother-in-law, where the family celebrated the lucky event. Mr and Mrs Hayes have been in their new home since just before Christmas, and a neighbour stated io-night that the winning ticket had been bought while Mr and Mrs Hayes were on holiday in Queenstown over the Christmas holidays.
