HONG KONG SAFE.
ADMIRAL’S ASSERTION. PARTS. Jan. 30. A French journal says that Admiral Hasegawa, in an interview, said: “I will never attack Hong Kong. I do not believe that military operations necessitate the occupation of Hainan, even if it is decided to operate against Canton. I do not believe that foreigners, notably Britain, have played a serious part in Chinese resistance.”
