INTERNATIONAL CRICKETER.
MR JACK SHARP DIES. LONDON, Jan. 28. The death has occurred of Jack Sharp, aged 59, the captain of Lancashire after the War and a former Test cricketer. Jack Sharp won international honours both as a footballer and a cricketer. •He started his career with the Leyland Cricket Club, and after assisting Herefordshire joined Lancashire as a professional some years before (lie War. In 1909 lie-played in three Tests against Australia in England. After the War he returned to Lancashire as an amateur, and suceeded Miles Kenyon as the county captain in 1923. He held the post for two years, then left the first-class game, with 38 centuries to his credit, to play for Leyland once more with Ribblesdale League. As a foot- [ bailer lie was outside right with Ever ton, whom he helped to win the F.A. Cup in 1906. He was capped twice for England and subsequently became a director of the Everton F.C.I He was born on February 15, 1878.4
