FORGED PASSPORTS
1 ARRESTS IN EUROPE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Times Cables.) Received Januarv 29, 11.45 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 28. The Times Paris correspondent states that 28 foreigners were arrested in France and four others in Warsaw on charges of selling forged passports. One business was allegedly conducted by Poles for their countrymen wishing to take advantage of the Paris Exhibition to enable them to settle in France. So-called “tourist agencies” in Paris obtained passports from the various Consulates and forwarded them to Warsaw, where new photographs and stamps were affixed. The same passport was used repeatedly. Two Hungarians were charged with selling Luxembourg passports in Paris cafes at £l4O each, and five Chinese were arrested at Toulouse in connection with the sale of passports to Chinese war refugees.
