VETERANS VASE.

NORTHERN RETAIN TROPHY. An interesting match for the Veterans’ Vase was played on the Northern Club’s green on Thursday, Terrace End putting up a great fight in an effort to regain possession of the trophy. They found some difficulty in the early stages of the game in adapting themselves to the keenness of the Northern green. On the 13th head they had scored only five points Jo Northern’s 17; they then added 5, 4,1, making a difference of only two points. An exciting finish saw Northern withstand the challenge by a margin of one point. Details: Northern, Andrews, Binns, Palmer, Robinson (skip) 20 v. Terrace End, Knowles, Kells, Ashton, O’Shea (skip) 19.
