NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNEY

MANAWATTJ RINKS’ PROGRESS.

Advice has been received in Palmerston North that J. K. Paton’s rink (Palmerston North) won their section in the New Plymouth tournament with seven wins and one loss. At the close of the sixth round J. M. Thompson (Foxton) had four wins and two losses. The rinks are: T. Attwood, A. Wilson, L. T. Brown, J. K. Paton (skip), and R. Rangiheaua, J. M. Croucher, J. Ivirshaw, J. M. Thompson (skip). The results of their games up to the sixth round were :

First round.—Paton 23 v. S. Ewing (Stratford) 20, Thompson v. A. E. Andrews (Paritutu) 14. Second round: H. A. Burchal! (Te Awamutu) 31 v. Thompson 12, Paton 25 v. D. Rush (Wanganui) 20. Third round: Paton 23 v. F. Blundell (New Plymouth) 21. Fourth round: Thompson 24 v. Erceg (Waitara) 16, Paton 21 v. G. H. Saunders (Vogeltown) 14. Fifth round: A. H. Benefield (St., John’s) 20 v. Thompson 16, Paton 18 v. F. Julian (Pihama) 16. Sixth round: Thompson 24 v. P. Douglass (West End) 15, A. M. Elliott (Waitara) 16 v. Paton 15.
