OBITUARY.
MRS W. H. HARTGILL
There passed away m 'Wellington early yesterday morning Mrs Alice Louisa Hartgill, one cf the most highly respected residents of Denncvirke, Mrs Hartgill, was spending a holiday in the city, and her demise, so unexpected, came as a great shock to her family, as she had been enjoying good health.
The late Mrs Hartgill, whose husband predeceased her many years ago, had been a resident of Danneyirke for nearly 40 years, and by her kindly disposition had wdn the affection of a very wide circle of friends. Always interested in sport, for many years she took a keen interest in the Danne-: virke Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, of which she was a life member. Mi's Hartgill was a. faithful member of St John's Church for many years, where her unostentatioiis assistance at functions in connection with the parish was greatly appreciated. Mrs Hartgill is survived by a grownup family of three sons and two .daughters—Mr W. M. Hartgill, Akitio; Dr (Colonel) W. Hartgill, England, and Mr G. L. Hartgill, Dannevirke; Mrs N. P. Green, Tauaranga, and Mrs E. D. Warhurton, Kiwitea. The fu-
neral took place to-day.
