FRUIT SALAD GATEAU

Take 1 tin fruit salad, 1 sponge or Madeira ca.ke, 1 packet pineapple jelly crystals, i pint cream. Cut a slice off the top of the cake and scoop out some of the centre to make room for the fruit. Put the fruit, syrup and jelly crystals in a saucepan and stir till the crystals are dissolved Pour the fruit into a colander placed over a basin. Heap the fruit into the hole in the cake. Pour the hot syrup very slowly over the cake. Put on the lid, and decorate with cream.
