CHAMPIONS IN ADELAIDE
DOUBLES RESULTS,

In the doubles of the Australian tennis championships Budge and Mako (U.S.A.) deteated Turnbull and Huxley (Australia) 6—2, 6—4 ; Clenienger and Harper (Victoria) walked off the court when they were in a tactically ascendant position against Cramm and Henkel (Germany) ac 6 4, 3—6, 6—l, 3—6, 10—10. The light was bad and Clemenger, not wishing to take the Germans at a disadvantage, refused to serve. The final set will be replayed. In the mixed doubles Bromwich and Miss Wilson (Australia) defeated Budge and Miss Bundy (U.S.A.) 6—o, 6—2.
In a semi-final of the men’s singles Bromwich beat von Cramm, 6—3, 7—5, 6—l.
The women’s singles semi-finals resulted:—Miss Stevenson , (Victoria) beat the title-holder. Miss Wynne. 6 —3. 6 —3; Miss Bundv (America) beat Mrs Hopman, 6—2, 6 —3.
