ATHLETICS AND CYCLING CLUB.
EVENING SPORTS. Tlie Feilding Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s evening sports, held on Kowhai Park last evening, attracted a good attendance of spectators and competitors. The principal cycling event of five miles was won by Arthur Allen. Harold Cocker came a good second, and H. Stewart followed closely to secure third. Details are as follow-:
Half-mile cycle.—First heat: A. Allen 1, Stewart 2, Evans 3; second heat, J. Allen 1. H. Moss 2, A. Dewe 3; final, A .Allen 1, H. Stewart 2, J. Allen 3; time, 1.12 Two-mile cycle: J. Allen 1, Little (P.N.) 2, C. Fisher 3; time, 4.17 2-5. Five-mile cycle: A. Allen 1, H. Cocker 2, Stewart 3; time, 14.28. Men’s 100 yards.—P. Packer 1, R. Lamberton 2, H. Kiimister 3; time, 10 l-ssec. Men’s 220 yards: Lamberton 1, Packer 2, Keneven 3; time, 221 4-ssec. Men’s 440 yards: Miller 1. Lamberton 2, D. McCardle 3. Halfmile walk: A. Eade (scr.) 1, R. Lamberton 2; time, 4.10 2-5. Women’s 75 yards: Miss J. Grindrod 1, Miss M. Heggie (Bunnytliorpe) 2, Miss J. Me- i Nabb 3 ; time, 9 4-ssec. Women’s 100 1 yards: Miss J. Grindrod 1, Miss M. Heggie 2, Miss J. McNabb 3; time, 12sec. Boys’ 440 yards : M. Velvin 1, Hill 2, Nottle 3. Boys’ second 440 yards: Hunt 1, Hill 2, Chesterfield 3. Boys’ 100 yards (10 and under) : M. Velvin and C. Velvin, dead-heat, 1, J. Gleeson 3.
