LONDON WOOL SALES.

ANIMATED COMPETITION. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received cable advico from their London house regarding 'the London wool sales, reading as follows:—The sales continued before an average attendance of buyers, with the market unchanged and competition very animated. Continental and Bradford buyers were the chief operators. A good selection of wools was offered. Slipcd, scoured, and Merino remained firm, while crossbred good topmaking wools were id above ordinary rates. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have received the following cable from their London office, under date January 24: Wool sales continue with good general competition. Late rates fully maintained, except Merino, wasty, irregular, and rather easier.

Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated January 24: —The auctions are proceeding at the level of the opening day, although greasy crossbred is rather irregular. Slipc wool generally is jd higher. The following prices are current:— Per lb.

SYDNEY AUCTION. MARKET UNCHANGED. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. At the wool calcs 11,268 bales were offered and 96£0 bales were sold, 1149 privately. There was better competition from Yorkshire and the Continent and moderate support from Japan. The market was without change. Greasy Merino made to 23d.
